No Apparent Survivors In Hot Air Balloon Crash
According to the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, all 16 passengers on a hot air balloon were apparently killed when it caught fire and came crashing down in a central Texas field.
The initial reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety confirms that there are some fatalities, but the exact number had not been determined yet.
The crash is currently under investigation but reports from the Federal Aviation Administration show that it occurred just after 7:40 a.m. near Lockhart, Texas. The hot air balloon crashed into a pasture just 30 miles south of Austin.
The sheriff’s office stated that it did not appear that anybody onboard survived. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
